Potential of Natural Language Processing Technologies including Generative Artificial Intelligence in the Medical and Welfare Fields.
Assoc. Prof. Kyoko Kanzaki
Otemon Gakuin University, Japan

Abstract
In recent years, natural language processing technology, including generative AI, is expected to be applied in various fields to solve social issues. In this presentation, I will introduce our actual projects using natural language processing in the nursing and medical field. Japan is the fastest aging society in the world. On the other hand, there is a shortage of nursing care personnel. Applied technology to protect the health and QOL of the elderly is an important issue. We are currently working with elderly care facilities to develop a communication system to be mounted on nursing care robots. In the medical field, there is also a growing interest in using information technology to solve problems, such as reducing the workload of hospital staff, sharing and utilizing medical information and developing applications that are useful for both patients and hospital staff. We are working with a hospital on a project called "Smart Hospital," which aims to improve the informatization and efficiency of the medical field. In this presentation, I will discuss the difficulties of development and the potential for social application through an actual project case study.
